In 2024/5 we received £16,510 PE and sports premium funding.

Expenditure, Opportunities, Impact & Sustainability

Our school continues to use the PE & Sport Premium to strengthen PE provision, widen access to sport, and promote healthy, active lifestyles for all pupils. This report outlines how the funding was spent during 2024–2025 and the impact it has had across the school.

1. Funding Expenditure Summary

CPD (Continuing Professional Development)

Total spent: £847.50

Funding was used to improve staff confidence and subject knowledge through external training. This has strengthened the quality and consistency of PE teaching across the school.

Internal Activities

Total spent: £10,923.01

This included:

  • Extra‑curricular sports opportunities

  • Internal sports competitions

  • Top‑up swimming lessons

  • Equipment and resources to enhance PE delivery

These investments have broadened pupils’ access to high‑quality physical activity and improved lesson experiences.

External Activities

Total spent: £4,739.49

Funding supported:

  • Inter‑school competitions

  • External coaching staff

This has increased competitive opportunities and enriched the curriculum with specialist expertise.

2. Targeted Opportunities in Sport

SEND & Long‑Term Medical Needs

The school targeted funding to improve access for pupils with SEND through:

  • Staff CPD focused on inclusive PE

  • Support for participation in extra‑curricular activities and competitions

Girls’ Participation

Funding was used to increase girls’ access to PE and sport through:

  • Specialist girls‑focused activities

  • Support for participation in extra‑curricular opportunities

Disadvantaged Pupils

The school strengthened equity of access by providing:

  • Subsidised clubs

  • Parental engagement through assemblies, leaflets and home‑support resources

These actions have helped remove barriers and increase participation among disadvantaged pupils.

Teachers report improved confidence, knowledge and competence in delivering PE and sport.

There has been a positive increase in pupils’ engagement in regular physical activity and extra‑curricular sport.

PE and sport continue to have a strong presence across the school, supporting whole‑school improvement.

Broader & More Equal Sports Offer

Pupils now experience a wider and more inclusive range of sports and physical activities.

Competitive Sport Participation

More pupils are taking part in competitive sport, representing the school in inter‑school events.

Overall Achievements

The school’s spending has contributed to:

  • Increased attainment in PE

  • Higher physical activity levels

  • More pupils participating in school sport

  • Increased extra‑curricular participation

  • Improved attainment in swimming and water safety

4. Swimming & Water Safety Outcomes (Year 6)

  • 100% can swim 25 metres confidently

  • 100% can use a range of strokes effectively

  • 100% can perform safe self‑rescue

The funding has had a positive impact on swimming attainment.

5. Sustainability of Improvements

The school reports a positive impact on sustainability. Improvements made through the PE & Sport Premium—such as staff training, strengthened parental engagement, and enhanced resources—are embedded into long‑term practice.
